Question I have been told that many behavioral healthcare regulations are more stringent than those designated by HIPAA. Will those regulations supersede the others?

As a general rule, health care entities are required to follow all laws and regulations that apply to them. As a behavioral health care agency, your organization is required to follow both the HIPAA regulation and any regulation specifically designed for behavioral health care.
