  • The percent with ESI in 1996 was highest in the New England (79%) and East North Central (80%) Divisions and somewhat lower in the West South, Mountain, and West Census Divisions.

  • Another chart book shows that persons residing in the South and West Regions were more likely to be uninsured than persons in the other two regions. These ESI results tend to explain those earlier results.
