DHHS Legislative Proposals for the 106th Congress

Here, you can find descriptions of legislative proposals for Public Health Service programs of the Department of Health and Human Services for the year 2000 that represent approved policy requests of the Administration as cleared by the Office of Management and Budget. The Department and the Administration recommend that these proposals be acted upon as soon as possible, preferably during the current session of Congress.

Other legislative proposals of the Administration, relating to programs under the purview of the Department, that are in bills before the Congress or that will be submitted to the Congress, are not included here; this does not duplicate proposals available elsewhere.
